En mi vida, vol. 1 es el segundo álbum de estudio del rapero estadounidense Jay-Z , lanzado el 4 de noviembre de 1997 por Roc-A-Fella Records y Def Jam Recordings. El álbum debutó en el n° 3 de la lista Billboard 200 de EEUU y fue certificado Platino por la RIAA.
El álbum presenta contribuciones de invitados como Lil 'Kim, Foxy Brown, Babyface, Blackstreet, Teddy Riley, Too $hort y Puff Daddy.
En una revisión contemporánea, Steve Jones de USA Today llamó a In My Lifetime "un conjunto sólido como una roca con un atractivo pop y callejero". El crítico del Chicago Tribune Soren Baker cree que las letras de Jay-Z "contienen una delicadeza y una visión que pocos pueden articular de forma tan sucinta", mientras escribe que "su uso de los productores pop Teddy Riley y Sean 'Puffy' Combs alienará a los oyentes, incluso Jay -Z se establece como ese raro rhymer underground con atractivo comercial".
